Someone asked this in September but I hope to find a more specific answer:
I have earned a companion ticket for Jan-Feb 2022.
Can I book and pay for a ticket for someone (the primary passenger), let's call him Fred, and have another person (the companion), let's call her Wilma, accompany Fred?
Or do I *have* to be the primary passenger?
Thanks for any clarification!

Solution
A free companion can only be added to a reservation with the companion pass holder is actually flying. The situation you describe would not work.
