Qualifying Flights for Same Day Layovers/Travel

I'm trying to figure out how the Tier Qualifying flights would work if in the following situations (all full revenue fares):

A) If I flew from DEN to SLC for a meeting and came back the same day, is that 1 or 2 flights?

B) If I flew DEN to SLC on one reservation early in the morning THEN SLC to LAS later that day on a separate reservation, would that be 1 or 2 flights?

Thanks!!

Solution

Both would be 2 qualifying flights.  As long as the stop on a reservation is not a layover shown as either a connection or direct flight then the flights count separately.
