Qualifying for Companion Pass

My points post to my account on the 20th of every month.  I am close to qualifying for the Companion Pass and was wondering if I need to wait for next month's posting or will I be notified as soon as I acquire the qualifying points?

Hello.

You don't "earn" the qualifying points until they post to your account. Why? Becasue if they are based on your purchases and you could return purchases and get a credit, and in the process reduce the number of points you earn.

Therefore you'll need to wait for the 20th.
