Hi all!
I just want to check on this situation: we earn points next year (new RR credit card) and then redeem some for a flight. The redemption doesn't take away from our progress toward a Companion Pass, does it?
Thanks!

Spending/redeeming points does not take away from your progress towards earning CP, but it also doesn't help you since flights paid for with points don't earn points. My suggestion is to pay cash for the flight to earn points, then after you have earned CP (or A-List if you are going for that too) you can start using points.

This is what I do! It's a great hack/workaround even though it's totally doable.
