I'm confused about the SAVE20NOW promo:
"Book with points and get 20% off base fare of your next flite. For travel thru 12/15/22."
So I read this as 2 flites involved: the first with points; the second with payment of a fare.
So, WHICH flite(s) have to be taken by 15 Dec 22?

The base fare (paid with points) is discounted.
Basically use the code, select pay with points, and you will see discounted fares on the search results screen.

Remember that not all dates thru 12/15 qualify.
"Blackout dates: 11/18-11/23 & 11/26-11/29/22. "

so the number of points required is discounted 20%? I guess the terminology "fare" has me thrown.

Yes, The word fare can be applied to the cost for a flight regardless of the payment method. Fare does not include taxes and fees, just the portion the airline keeps.
