My flight from San Diego to Oakland gets cancelled due to maintenance. I find this out when I get to the airport... I get put onto a later flight out. No worries, I just have to wait 7 more hours. Whatever.
I check my Rapid Rewards points the next day. Turns out I had to "pay" 22,000 points for the later flight???? 11,000 points PER TICKET for my husband & me.
Um, HUH???? Southwest cancelled my flight, then I HAVE TO PAY FOR THE NEXT FLIGHT??? Has this happened to anyone else? Does anyone else think this is a TERRIBLE policy??? I can't believe it!

If you are saying Southwest charged you 11,000 MORE points per flight, something sounds seriously wrong.
If I were you I'd discuss with Southwest customer relations. You can call, tweet or e-mail. Here are the details:

Agree with previous post. Additionally, when a flight gets cancelled or delayed due to maintenance typically SWA passes out LUV vouchers.
