What's the best way to use my young childrens Rapid Rewards points towards a flight? Do I have to pay to transfer them to me?

No! Points can be used to purchase a ticket for anyone. All you need to do is be logged into the account that has the points, then show flight in points then just change the name on the passenger information page.
