first time posted subject above, 2 questions are: can other ticket holder proceed with round trip, even though not his points and single confirmation number? and will points go back for cancelling passenger, even if received boarding pass, plane to leave tomorrow a.m.?
Called toll free number, 120 minute wait.

So to cancel one person off of the trip you would need to call reservations 800-435-9792 because if you cancel online it will cancel both of you. You could also try reaching out through the new chat option on theSouthwest app and they might be able to help if not then phone call would be your best option.
As long as this is not a companion reservation you will have no problem traveling since rapid rewards points can be used on anyone.
Hope this helps
Blake

thank you, Blake: The SW policy does state if one uses reward points, and does not fly, they will automatically go back into your account, just uncertain due to boarding pass and other information previously provided. I will call, hopefully no longer a 2 hour wait.

Another option would be to e-mail the airline. To do so click on contact us at the bottom of this page, and then pick e-mail from the top left of the ensuing page.
To make sure we're not miscommunicating, if a points ticket is cancelled, the points go back to the RR account that funded the points.

Status of a boarding pass is immaterial - plenty of flights change and/or cancel within 24 hours up to 11 minutes prior to departure. As long as you aren't in the ten minute prior to departure window you will be fine.
And actually the fine print on points bookings is that the points would be returned, even for a no-show.

Note that no-showing a flight cancels any future part of that reservation, if that applies to your situation right now.
