I have earned a companion pass for my husband that goes through the end of 2017. I earned it primarily by using my Southwest Visa card. After I earned it, I switched to using a different credit card. If I want to continue having my husband qualify as my companion for 2018, when do I need to start using my Southwest Visa to begin racking up my points again? If I do it now and attain the necessary points by the end of the year, will I qualify for a companion pass next year? I want to make sure I don't accumulate the points too early.

To earn the Companion pass for 2018 you must reach 110,000 points by 12/31/2017.
If you have reached 110,000 from 1/1/2017- 6/18/2017 the the Companion pass is good
for the rest of 2017 and all of 2018.
