The issue is most likely flights from west coast can't make the connection flights that go to Aruba. If you really want to fly Southwest for this trip you'll need an overnight layover in the connection city. Book this as two separate trips since Southwest reservations system doesn't currently allow for an overnight layover. East coast people face the same problem trying to get to Hawaii.
