Booking Extra Seats For A Customer Of Size

My husband and I are planning a trip to Hawaii. My husband is a big guy weighing over 500lbs. I assume that he would need 3 seats. Can he book 3 seats for him self, if so how would that work with the seatbelt. Would it even be long enough with the extender?

You can find more information about Southwest's Customer of Size policies here

https://www.southwest.com/html/customer-service/extra-seat/index-pol.html and here https://www.southwest.com/faq/extra-seat-policy

The policy does say more than one seat can be reserved.  It also does specify that only one seatbelt extender can be used so you may want to contact Southwest directly to inquire about the length of it ensure it will work for you.

@Josieshs As has been said, he will need to be able to use one seat belt extender. However, I'm confident that 500 will fit in two seats, and I'm pretty sure that one seatbelt extender will work. I'm guessing that you would use the left side of the seatbelt from one seat and the right side from the other. It should be okay.

I think your husband would be ok in 2 seats as I have seen others that size fit in 2 seats.

I would proactively book the flight and it can be refunded after travel is complete. When booking just be sure you put XS in the middle name that way it will recognize it as a COS reservation and after travel is complete you can reach out to Southwest on Social media or call 800-435-9792 and they can get the 2nd seat refunded.
