Ed.D. Added to Name

New Arrival

Hello,

I noticed many designations are added to after the name registration, when booking a flight. For example Ph.D., MD, etc. but not Ed.D.  As someone who has this type of doctorate, I think some customers, including myself, would like to see it added if possible. Thank you!

Interesting idea.  You could submit the suggestion to Southwest Customer Relations via a private message on Facebook or Twitter.

Most are there to let flight crews know that people with medical backgrounds are onboard - in case of a medical emergency:

RN, DPM, MD, ParmD, OD, DVM, DPM, DO, DDS, DC, etc

Others are parts of names, JR, SR, I ,II , etc

There are a few are odd birds: CLU or PhD for example

I initially thought the same thing until I saw CEO, CPA, and CLU and then it made no sense as to why some suffixes are there, but not others.  The OP can certainly ask, I wouldn’t hold my breath though.
