Well I’m obviously new at this since I didn’t get my idea written out!
My flight was cancelled, and auto re-booked. On the original flight, I had boarding assignment A-37. On the rebook, I got C-53 (was within 4 hours). With the inconvenience of missing the things I was planning to do with my original flight, and everything else that goes with it, it would be awesome if Southwest automatically assigned A-list for your trouble and inconvenience.

If you were rebooked that implies there were already people on the flight you were moved to and boarding positions have already been assigned to those people. I guess it's possible to allow people to board at A61 but there would be no way to verify someone was rebooked and actually qualified for that spot.
