I had two flights booked for Thursday 12/29, Chicago-Baltimore, and Baltimore-Fort Lauderdale, and a return trip booked for Saturday 12/31. I received a text message that Baltimore-Fort Lauderdale was cancelled. I do not want to rebook, but would like a full refund for the entire trip, as I am not going to be able to go anymore. Do I need to go in and cancel the other two flights that Southwest has not cancelled yet?

If you do not intend to fly it would be best to cancel so the seat is available for someone else. Then request a refund here:

We also had our outgoing leg cancelled, but the return is showing still active. When I go to cancel the return leg, I only get the option for travel funds, and I would like a refund to my credit card. Should I just wait till SW cancels my flight? Its on 1/1

Do you know how long it takes to get the funds back? I know you can submit for a refund but I just wonder what the timeframe looks like. The website says 3 - 30 business days or something like that. Does anyone have success with a refund?

Im in a similar situation and cant seem to get through on the phone as well. I had a round trip flight from 12/29-1/1 booked from Sacramento to Las Vegas. Got a text that the flight is cancelled on 12/29. I have chosen to drive to Las Vegas and hope to still fly back on the 1/1 flight. Is that cancelled as well?? There is no way for me to know and I really hope I can still use that 1/1 flight!

The only way I know that you can check on the status of the 1/1/ flight would be to start the process of buying a ticket on it. If in that process it shows as available, then it is.
Of course it could also be sold out and then you would not know if it is cancelled or sold out.
If it get's cancelled, SW should call you as it did with your outbound flight.

Actually, I just learned of a possible way to learn about your flight- Got it from another user here.
Use the link below, but input your date and flight number on the right before hitting enter
