Connection at SAN

Hi everyone, I had a question about connecting at SAN. I have a flight that lands in Terminal 2 with another airline, and I have a connection with southwest to get to SJC from Terminal 1. I am not checking in any bags. Is there any way to get from Terminal 2 to 1 without going out of the airside?

Nope, you'll need to exit one terminal and go through security at the other

Apparently you can't even go from Terminal 1 to Terminal 1 and remain airside (between concourses?)
