IAD-RNO What Happened?

I'm able to find a routing fron RNO-IAD for February and March on the SWA website.  But, not IAD-RNO!  WTH?  I need to go to RNO on business.  And, after my experiences with SWA in October and November 2019, I'd rather fly SWA than another airline.  I looked at the airline that hates guitars and a couple of others and SWA also seems to offer a better web experience for booking, as well.  The costs are easier to understand with SWA!

As for SWA and any changes in services, my suggestion is to follow the first law of engineering:  If It Ain't Broke Don't Fix It!

I see a weekly Sunday flight in February then increased frequency in March. Here is the link to the Southwest flight schedule for the city pair, you can toggle through different weeks:

The weird thing is, I can "assemble" an itnerary myself with separate SW flights going IAD-LAS and then LAS-RNO on the same day with rasonable connection time and seats available on both flights.  But, the SW website won't assemble a similar match.  Maybe they need a new IT system as tyhis seems very Wells Fargo!

Sad because SW has me soured on flying other sirlines..

Curious: who is the airline that hates guitars? 😄

Think "Surliest In The Skies", instead of their slogan from decades ago...!

No reason we can't just say United. Here's more info, it's quite the story.

Solution

Try booking to LAS and then to RNO as a multi-city route. There could be some timing restrictions on this, but obviously there are plenty of RNO flights through a few gateway airports.

If you are checking luggage you'll need to inquire about having it "checked through" so that you don't have to go in and out of security to retrieve luggage in LAS, DEN, OAK, LAX, MDW, PHX, SAN, or SJC - whichever gateway city to RNO works best for you. Obviously to be in the flight path MDW, DEN are looking good - for frequency of service maybe LAS? LAX or SAN would be backtracking but could work if the timing was suitable for you.

Something like this if the link comes through:
