My family and I have for years relied on SWA service between BWI and OAK. Within the last year, all nonstop service on this route has vanished. Looking forward, I find no nonstop service between ANY Washington, DC area airport and ANY San Francisco, CA airport:
BWI, DCA, IAD. to/from. OAK, SFO, SJC. This means that SWA has abandoned this market.
Please return!

Southwest, and all other airlines, do adjust routes and schedules based on demand, revenue, etc. I've also noticed Southwest has reduced the number of long haul flights such as the ones you mentioned and instead direct flights into their "hubs" such as Denver, Chicago, and Dallas. You can certainly submit your comments directly to Southwest by using the Contact Us link at the bottom of this page and use the send a message. option.
