Why has Southwest eliminated direct flights from Philadelphia

Why has Southwest eliminated direct flights from Philadelphia to Phoenix, Dallas, and many Florida airports? Southwest seems to be trying to to make it extremely difficult to fly in and out of Philadelphia. With no direct flights, very poor travel times and higher fares to and from Philadelphia, it seems as though they want out of Philadelphia airport?

Routes and schedules adjust as demand and other business decisions dictate. If they can make more money elsewhere they will go there.

I bet @jksobonya would like to know this as well.

Hopefully those non stops will come back soon for you all in Philly soon.

Oh man, story of my life right here! PHL is my home base. We've had a lot of nonstops eliminated on various routes, it's true. I was afraid for awhile that Southwest might leave Philadelphia altogether like they did in Newark, NJ. Thankfully that hasn't happened yet!

But, I think as a whole longer nonstop flights are being broken up across the country. I assume shorter flights = more flights per day = more revenue for the airline.
