Becoming an aircraft maintenace technician

Hi there, i am looking to pursue a career in aviation maintenance and I have a few questions. Does Southwest Airlines provide benefits such as paying for trade schools in that field? Do positions in this field become available often? Are there any entry level positions available that lead into a maintenace position?

Hi @RafaelR08,

Thanks for your interest in joining Southwest on our Maintenance Team. Unfortunately, we do not provide benefits to help pay for trade schools. Positions do come open often, but can vary by location. If you have an Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license with less than two years of experience, some entry level positions that you might want to consider are Aircraft Appearance Techs and Materials Specialist. We hope to see your application soon!
