Or perhaps they offer subsidies for using public transportation? None of us have all the information and there are plenty of other benefits such as free flights that Southwest is able to offer so looking at the complete package is more important than individual components.

Perhaps someone is a bit greedy for wanting everything?

That’s from that famous quote from back in the day.

“Free parking isn’t everything. It’s the only thing”

2020. Time to accept this fact.

Bully much? Who said I expected free parking? Read my post again. I said I HOPED IT WASNT EXPENSIVE.  Your rude comment was uncalled for. You should learn the word "polite". I hope you arent an employee....  read posts before you respond.  You may not like my question, but be respectful.

Quirky editing chat room. Sorry about that.

I would be surprised if they did not cover the cost of parking at their base. When on layover, the crew gets shuttled to their hotel by the airline and is paid per diem the entire time. Why would they not pay for employee parking?

Hello, I did my homework & found out there is a special employee garage. I am happy with it. All is good. :cathappy:

No worries! As my original post says, I was just shocked to hear about it. I mean what do I care? I have an employment standard. And parking that I don’t have to pay for is part of it.

Even in Vegas these days they are charging for parking at most of the casinos on the strip. Ridiculous! And it sucks! Only just a few years ago it was all complimentary.

The rise of the “resort fee” is equally annoying. No value add! They say things like “You get use of the pool!” or “you get a coffee maker!” Well you had that all before. Only wall streeters and their ilk enjoy the nickel and dime culture. I don’t have a problem paying, but just give me the all in price up front so I can make a decision on where I want to stay without all the abnoxious additional billing.

Firstly - since you're bringing #Vegas into this, I have to comment on the parking fees. Most resorts do charge for parking now, but not all do - plus, if you are a certain tier status at the hotel properties (ex. Pearl with MLife/MGM Resorts), parking is comped. So that's not really a good example to give here as a lot of people can get their parking waived.

Secondly - don't want resort fees? Stay downtown at 4 Queens, they don't charge them, or gamble enough to get them comped off your bill :catwink:

Thirdly - there's no proof anywhere that Houston Hobby charges employees for parking. It's just speculation that they do and I can't say one way or another if it is true or false. My guess is they get reimbursed for it, if they do have to pay.
