Hello community,
1)What is seniority and how is determined?
2)When can a flight attendant pick up its own shifts?

Hi,
Based on my experience with a different Carrier, seniority is based on years of experience from class date. As more classes are graduating and senior flight attendants retire or leave, your seniority grows, which brings you closer to being a line-holder. As for picking up trips, you must be legal… meaning 48/7 rest which can be waived down to 24/7 rest and depending on Southwests contract, you can waive rest down to minimum and be legal to pick up. Also, it will depend on if your on reserves or a line-holder.
Hope this helps! Marli 💕
