Hello:
I will be retiring after 20 years of active service from Fort Worth and will be applying to Southwest as a pilot in the near future. The DOD has a program - skill bridge - that allows members to transition to a company for up to six months before the end of active service. The member is not to receive pay from the associated company as he/she is still receiving pay as a service member. This program is beneficial to the member in that they can secure employment earlier than release from service and also beneficial to the company in that it receives a contributing employee without the associated costs.
More information on this program can be found here: https://skillbridge.osd.mil/
Would Southwest consider hiring a pilot utlizing this program? If so, the first availability date would be six months than it otherwise would be.
Thanks so much!

Check out the SW program Destination 225° Military. That may be of some interest to you. There is tons of info in there that may apply to you. 😀
