Are some Non-stop flights only done on a seasonal basis?

This past March I flew from Milwaukee to Ft. Lauderdale nonstop. I am now searching for a similar flight but not finding any non-stop flights.  Did they discontinue this route or do they only fly that route during winter for snowbirds?   Hoping I see some of these flights scheduled soon!

Most likely seasonal.  In the past few years, flights from PVD to RSW and PBI which are in Florida, the non stops are only available in Feb/Mar

There are plenty of seasonal routes. I've also encountered direct from MDW to PNS available in the spring/summer but not in January when I've been traveling there.

Thank you!  I'll have to wait til the winter schedule comes out to reserve a seat.  Last year I know I was able to make a reservation around the end of June for a March flight.  I appreciate your answer.
