Candles on board allowed?

Need guidance. Im traveling to Mexico from US next week for daughter's wedding. I have 7 8oz scented candles in alabaster containers ---- special gifts -- i was planning on carrying on board.  will that pass TSA?

According to TSA's web site, it depends on the type of candle. If solid, yes, if gel, no. More info here:

TSA would also likely do the swab test to verify that there is no issue with the materials of which they are made, so you might want to allow extra time to go through the security line.
