Has anyone ever checked in a portable massage table? I have shipped it UPS in the past but need to take it with me.
Can I check it?
the dimensions are 31 x 6 x 36

The official answer is "no." Southwest's policy limits baggage to a max of 80 total inches (L=W=H). Yours would be 83 inches. You would pay $75 for anything bigger than 62 inches.
You're not much over 80 inches so you could go to the airport to see "if you get away with it," but if you do not, what are you going to do?

Thanks but how did you come up with 83. is it not 73?

It is 73. That is under the max size limit, but still subject to an oversize charge.
