I was cleaning out my wallet this evening and came across some now-expired drink coupons. These are ones that come in the mail, not connected to a specific flight ticket. Does anyone know if Southwest has extended the expiration dates on drink coupons, or are they just trash?

Originally Southwest announced all drink coupons expiring anytime in 2020 were being extended until Dec 31, 2020, but I heard that it was not being extended out until Dec 31, 2021. I can't seem to find anything official that says it. Southwest isn't even offering drink service now so it's very likely the additional extension is happening. If yours expired in 2020, hold on to them for now hopefully you can use them in 2021.

As I posted earlier in this thread, Southwest reps on Facebook have been saying that drink coupons expiring in 2020 are extended through December 31, 2021. Not sure if those expiring in early 2021 will be similarly extended.

Thanks @chgoflyer, I thought you had posted it, but I couldn't find it and didn't see it mentioned on Facebook. Why Southwest doesn't make an official announcement is perplexing.

I do drink alcohol, so it's not a statement from somebody who doesn't or hasn't bought a refreshing onboard drink. But right now I think if I have expired drink coupons or not is about the last thing I'm concerned with. Just my opinion.

Well, it's not top of my list... but it's on there.
I'm more concerned I'm not earning any NEW ones. I mean, they owe me about 20 for this year already.
I'm thinking the first flight I'm on when they start serving... everyone gets free drinks. Assuming they accept expired, wadded up and bleached coupons.

You've flown 200 flights this year? Impressive.
Edit: 4 coupons per sheet, 50 flights, still impressive for a pandemic year.

@gsking If by chance we are on a flight together, I will gladly use my SW Visa card to buy you a drink myself. CHEERS.
