Fall Trip cancellation

We have a trip planned in October for several people.  By reading the policies we would need to decide by September 7 in order to have travel funds until September 2022.  I have a couple of follow up questions:

1. Is there any chance that the September 7 date would be extended further?

2. If we cancel after September 7 the funds are good for a year from the purchase date, correct?  If the ticket had been changed either because of a price change or the flight changed, do they use that date or the original purchase date?

Thanks for any insight.  We really don't want to have to make a decision by September 7 if we don't have to.  We aren't necessarily concerned with flying as much as having as much as normal vacation experience.

It might. It might not.  No one knows the answer to that question.

Yes, one year from purchase date.,

Depending on where ticket prices are, maybe you could cancel. Then buy anew.

If you were to do that today,  and cancel on Sept. 15, your one year window would start today.
