I'm sure the announcement will be all over social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) and this community. If you sign up for promotion/sale emails from Southwest on southwest.com you'll probably get a few emails about it when you it's announced. I've not seen Southwest utilize text messaging for anything other than some flight delay notifications.
