I am taking my family to Hawaii at the end of May 2018. I would love to take Southwest to Hawaii but not sure when Southwest is going to start traveling there. Not sure if I should wait to buy tickets or not. What is the latest on Southwest to Hawaii?

No official word from Southwest, but everything I have seen and read indicates flights will not happening for quite some time. May seems to be too soon, especially since the flight schedule is already open until August 2018.  My guess is early to mid 2019.

Southwest has officially only committed to the intention of flying to Hawaii. Tickets may go on sale in 2018, and it's expected that service may actually begin sometime in 2019.
