Is Southwest extending expiring travel funds?

I read on on a travel blog (miles to memories) about a Southwest memo stating that Southwest will extend the validity of expiring travel funds. link

However, when I called customer service the rep was not aware of any such policy. Can someone verify if the memo is valid or not.

I too have heard that rumor, but Southwest has not publicly confirmed it and no one has posted saying they have been able to get the rumored extension. I hope it's true, but at this point it's just a rumor.

Yes, called into customer service today. The guy said they are offering it thru Dec. 31st, and the extension is 6 months with no penalty. You have between now and Dec. 31st to request the extension. It will be reissued as a LUV voucher. Maybe try to call again?

I just called and had mine funds extended 6 months with no penalty.

Im trying to use travel funds that expire 8/8/22 for a flight 8/26/22-8/26/22

Agent said sorry, the funds expire. 

And there was no one I could speak to about it.

I havent traveled for 2 yrs.

I had to cancel flights due to so many covid restrictions and rough economic times. 

I finally have an event I really want to attend and I am shut out because of 20 days?

I have flown SWA for decades.

Who can I call for an appeal?

@Historygal22 Call back and request to be given a LUV voucher in place of expiring travel funds. Through the end of the year there should be no fee to do that. You'll have 6 months to use the voucher and it can be used by anyone.
