Lap Child Check-In

Hi,

We are traveling tomorrow with an infant. We called and had our son added to our itinerary. When we check in at the airport, do we still need to go to the full service counter to get his boarding verification document or can we just go to drop off luggages get that printed out? The local airport’s curbside check in counter is closed unfortunately. Thank you for the help!

Hi MrChan. Good question! You'll want to go to the full-service counter for the documentation. See you soon!

Solution

Changes were recently made that allow lap children to be added to the reservation and obtain boarding passes via the kiosk and it no longer appears Southwest is age verifying EVERY child under age 2.  Proof of age should still be carried, but if the child is obviously under 2 based on looks, it does not appear additional verification will be required.  Since this is a recent change your feedback about what you experience would be appreciated so please come back and post how it goes when you fly.
