Longboard as a carry on?

My son is traveling with his longboard to college. Will he be able to bring this as a carry-on or will it need to be checked as a sporting good? The baggage policies does allow for skateboards to carry on but does not specify a longboard type of skateboard. Thanks!

You might contact a customer service rep asap.  Make sure you know the dimensions of the board to give them all the exact information.  Hope you get your issue resolved.  I'd be curious to know what you find out.  If you post that others with the same question would be made aware of the policy.  I'm going to look into my mind, and I can feel that I've seen people with longboards in the airport carrying them, which I'm assuming they were getting on a plane with.

@mlikes222 please do post what you find out!

@ksbrg My neighbor and friend rocks his around the hood all the time! The kids all want to take turns riding it, and he helps them out.
