After enjoying my trip to cancun on 10/10/21 I realized almost 20 days after I may have left my camera on the flight. I filled out a form with the serial number. Any other ideas or recommendations on additional contacts would be appreciated.

Filling out the lost and found with serial number and any other identifying information is the best thing you can do. Now you'll have to be patient and hope it was recovered and not taken by another passenger. Good luck!

Do you know how long it takes for southwest to update on progress? Should I try contacting airport as well?

I don't think the airline "updates" on the progress on a search. If they find it, they let you know. It can take up to 30 days.
SInce it seems you are not sure where you lost the camera, you probably should file a lost item report at all places where that might have happened.
