Oversize Duffel Bag?

I'm not clear on what is classifed as "oversized" luggage.  Is it luggage that is 62 linear inches AND up to 50 lbs, or is 62 linear inches OR up to 50 lbs?  The reason I ask is that I have a loose duffle (as in "floppy" nylon bag, not stiff walls), that may be a few inches more that 62 linear inches.  Although, this may not be accurate measurement since it is hard to actually measure a "floppy" bag that is not full to capacity.  The bag will not be completely full, which means the height and width will decrease as the duffle is set down.  Basically, the size of the empty duffle could be 36" x 16" x 12", but when filled half way and set down, it may colapse to 36" x 10" x 5" with the contents in it, and will not exceed no where near 50 lbs.  Being that I'll be dropped off, any idea if this will pass and helping avoid any extra charges?

Thanks.
