I received a phone call from someone claiming to be Southwest airlines from 888-502-1233 after 8 pm Pacific time. I haven't flown for a very long time- why would someone be calling me and is this a scam?

If you don't have an active reservation and haven't applied for a job then it's probably not really Southwest calling. Be careful with these types of calls and refrain from providing any personal information.

I never answer calls from numbers I don't recognize. I let them go to voicemail. If they don't leave voice mails, I can be pretty sure they were spam/scam. If they leave voice mails, I listen to them and then decide what to do.
Most do not leave voicemails.
PS That does not appear to be a number used by Southwest.
