I recently cancelled a flight to visit my family for Thanksgiving. My travel funds are set to expire on May 29, 2021. Southwest's policy states that travel must be completed by the expiration date. Does that policy apply to the entire trip? I may be able to plan a trip to leave on May 29, but I would be returning after that date. Does anyone know how the policy applies when the trip overlaps the expiration date of the travel funds?

Morning.
The policy is that all flights must be completed by the expiration date.
If you try to book a return that is past that date, then the system will not allow you to do so.

I would book the outbound flight on travel funds. with the return since you would be traveling after the expiration date you would have to use another form of payment.
Maybe you could try a day trip or weekend trip somewhere to use the funds.
