Rebooking flight and LUV vouchers

If you book a flight and pay for it using LUV vouchers, then rebook to a later date, after the LUV vouchers would have expired, will that cause problems during the rebooking process?

My experience with vouchers and travel funds is that if they expire, you would not be able to book at a later date.  Even worse, if you had to pay a little extra to get to the booked ticket price, then all the new funds now have the earliest expiration date, even if you just bought them.

All travel must be completed by the expiration date. That means you cannot rebook after the vouchers expire. 

Also, when you apply a voucher (or travel funds) to a booking, all funds on that new booking, including new money, take on the earliest expiration date of any funds applied.
