Stroller still in box

We are traveling tomorrow with a new stroller. In Austin dont need it at the airport. I was wondering if we can leave it in the box for easier handling by SWA. If so technically it is 6 inches too big for standard check bag. Should we go a head and unbox it and just leave with ticketing or can we get it through under the free stroller and not incur large bag fee?

Great question, because there are some technicalities involved. If the dimensions of the box are outside the limits, you would need to take it out of the box in order to not pay an oversized fee.
