Love Southwest but they need to improve on Surfboard Baggage fees. Free interisland within Hawaii but everywhere else $75 one way. Not sure why. There are many sports equipment items that can be substituted for one piece of free checked baggage. If size, they don't charge for water or snow ski equipment or bicycles. Some surfboards are long but if that then allow at least short boards. If weight, my snow ski and board equipment with boots weigh more than surfboard or even scuba equipment weighs more than surfboard. Surfing is becoming more widespread than it's ever been. Some other airlines are free or $30.
