Hi!
I want to travel with my 55lb dog. I've seen larger dogs than him accompany their owners on Southwest flights, and I'm curious as to how this is possible. If this is a matter of purchasing an additional seat to accomodate for their size, I'd be more than glad to do so.
Seeking some advice on how to get my pet back home with me!
Thanks in advance.

You can go to the traveling with pets link under customer service on Southwest.com
I put the link below:
It doesn't mention anything about your pet being allowed in its own seat. Only in a carrier that fits under the seat in front of you.
I would recommend you call Southwest Customer Service and speak with someone directly. The animals you saw on the previous Southwest Flights could have been service animals.
Good luck!
