UM & YT flying. Do I need to inform the airline?

I booked reservations for UM and YT and didn't do anything special at the time except their full name and birthdate. Do I need to contact the airline prior to their boarding?

You should have given all the necessary information (child's name, your relationship, etc.) for both children when you booked the reservation.

For the UM, you will need to check in at the Southwest ticket counter to fill out the appropriate paperwork and get a lanyard for the child and an escort pass for yourself. The YT can go on their own, but since you'll already be at the airport, you might as well escort both children to the gate.

Actually, if your UM is traveling together with a YT age 12 or over, they're not actually a UM anymore. You can't pay the UM fee or receive any UM service (unless you book them separately from the YT, in which case you'll need to pay the UM fee and do as suggested above.)
