Recently  while boarding a flight in Raleigh announced no gator masks allowed.

According to website they are as long as cover nose mouth and chin. ?????????

You are correct, neck gaiters are still listed as being acceptable on southwest.com 

I would contact Southwest Customer Relations and let them know about your experience. Be specific in your message with flight details, date, and names if you know them.

I am not sure what sort of clarification they are trying to make here regarding it must be "secured under chin". 

 

"Neck gaiters (also called multi-bands) may be worn as face coverings so long as they cover the nose and mouth and are secured under the chin."

I presume it means "not flapping loosely below the chin."
