Hi , I've been snowbird in  California and live in Pittsburgh, PA , Is it safe for  me to travel back home in May?  I've been self isolation since March, I'm not ill or do I live with anyone that has been sick.

I'm afraid you won't be able to answer the question til May.

Where will virus hotspots be in May? What are chances of catching the virus in airports or planes in May?

Personally if you bring sanitizer and wipes and load factors are still depressed I wouldn’t worry too much about the plane itself.

There should be plenty of room to maneuver in the airport as well.

How do you get back and forth to the airports?

IMO now-May is probably safer to travel the airlines than most other times, with so few going to the airports - less traffic and less people to deal with in general. I think you would be fine.

@cookie0404 That absolutely has to be a personal decision.

One other thing to consider: some states and municipalities have restrictions where you would have to self-quarantine based on your travel. That is also worth looking into as well.
