@HeartsHelping04 Without any support (website link) or any type of verification you do really exists, I encourage anyone in this forum NOT to bite on this.
And as already stated, SWA does not allow folks to solicit formally or informally in this forum.
If your organization is legit I wish you the best in securing the support you need. You never did mention (that I recall) how these points help the children you assist out if donated.

Since they started the practice of making sequential boarding numbers for companions, I've flown about 30 times. Each time my companion was the next boarding number. ALTHOUGH, this to be true, my companion always goes ahead and checks in right at the 24-hour mark to be sure. I don't know if it's because I'm also an ALister or not, but I love it and thank SWA for the change.

I do pretty much the same as Jessica. And I book a hotel that is giving out larger amounts of points for staying. Often more than what I could bargain shop for, but in the long run, helps me get the companion pass 10 years running. I use to do a rental car, but found out that you normally pay more using SW partners. I just add my frequent traveler info to my rental car company and get the 600 points that way.

lol, I went ahead and signed up for the promotion just because I sign up for every promotion. This is, I already have a companion pass for my wife, and I don't fly with anyone but my wife, so although I will qualify for the companion pass, I won't get to use it. UNLESS, any of you savvy folks out in the community know something I don't, please share.

This has also started at CABO San Joes airport. Not sure why this has started to pop up, but just another thing to contend with and why I always get to the airport very early when going to Mexico.

Unless you have a third bag, your bags flew free. So now that you're corrected, you can at any time delete your thread. Love SWA and the no bag charge policy.

Good information to know, I've often wondered what I would do should I lose my identification while on travel. That came from a near situation of losing my driver's license (only form of ID) only to actually find it hidden deep in my carry-on bag after I dumped everything out near the ticket counter. THANK YOU

@tenaciouss I've booked over 100 rooms through the SWA hotel (booking.com) process and have to say only once did I have any issue. That once was my fault for not seeing no cancelation, however, I still got it cancelled by going through the process of contacting booking.com and working with the hotel. In the end, it's up to the hotel to force you to keep the room, or courteously cancel it. With all that said, I know that it's often cheaper by direct contact with the hotel, but you get no SWA points. I've had a companion pass for the past 6 years primarily due to the fact I use the SWA link to bookings and get on some stays up to 8,000 SWA points. Getting something, I need any way, a hotel room, and paying a bit more than rack price that helps me get companion, Priceless. To end this, no I've not had any issues with SWA and booking.com on any of the hundreds of bookings I've made.

Sorry for your experience, but who in their right mind puts anything of value in a checked bag anymore. I know you said you didn't want it to be considered as a weapon, but maybe that inconvenience seems a bit more appealing than what you're going through.
Word to the wise, computers, cameras, IPads, Jewelry, etc., should be in your purse, backpack, carry on, or small suitcase carry on....

@floridaguy I don't want to jump on you, but I think that SWA will feel the brunt of the mishaps of the 22022-holiday season. Not just in the loss of some loyal customers, but in refunds, accommodation payments, and so on. Without the academia background you have, I'm still going to say that SWA losses won't get to substantial amounts that will break the bank. Do I think they should pony up for their failure to not have got a better system so that this may not have happened, YES. We also seen what happened recently with a national ATC system. Having this happen, IMO, helps everyone looks to troubleshoot and upgrade so that all airlines can provide a better travel experience. But to your point of continuous hoping that SWA tanks or pays out their teeth is just crying now. Good luck in your lawsuit, I'm assuming you're in one or both.

@floridaguy I'm guessing that you aren't very familiar with class action lawsuits, or most lawsuits for that matter. I say that because you would actually think this, or any, lawsuit would be settled by July. More power to those who join the suit, I'm just thinking it's a waste of your time, but I've been wrong before. Good luck to you if you join.

@ bulkheadbill I'm not going to oppose that you've seen seat saving on the Exit row seats. However, I've not, ever. I don't fly as much as you, only 25 -30 flights a year, but haven't seen any exit row seat hoarding. I won't tat for tat if there is or isn't a "written" policy, but it is known that a person is allowed to sit in any open seat, (occupied with a coat, bag, backpack, or whatever). thus the often announced open seating policy. Have I sat in the exit row area, on occasion, but since I'm a A list, I normally stop at the first free entire row that I come to, even thought exit rows are open. Is there a reason that you have to sit the far back. Other than the 1 seat on both sides, there really isn't a significant difference in leg room, IMO. Do I see people save seats by placing something on a seat, YES. Have I put something on a seat to save it for someone, YES. Here is what I've seen 100% of the time when someone has a reserved seat item (to myself included) a passenger asks, is someone sitting there? The normal reply is that they are indeed hoping to keep it open for someone. The passenger nods in agreement and move on. I've never seen anyone demand they let them sit in that seat, although legal, or have any harsh words or confrontation. To put a number to this, I'm going to say I've seen or been asked this question at least 100 times. Yes, 100 times, with no confrontation. When it involves me, I for one, sit in the middle seat, where most people will just go on by not to have to sit by someone. When someone does ask if anyone is sitting in the window seat, (which has my bag/coat/whatever) in it, I always say, my wife/friend/relative is coming, but I always offer the isle seat. 99% of the time they politely say that's ok, and move on. I've never been hassled. I even have a back up plan if someone ever does want to force the issue, I will just tell them, yes, I'm moving over to the window seat. I'm going to assume they won't take the middle seat, and if they chose to take the isle, the middle is still open for my wife. Now, that's actually been eliminated as of recent policy chance by SWA that gives my wife the next boarding number as my companion pass... JUST ANOTHER perk by SWA that keeps me flying with them. Thanks for enduring this lengthy post.

I've tried to stay positive often in this forum, but have posted harsh comments, rarely at SWA, but at those with nothing to do but be negative. Yes, this was a big letdown by SWA, but as you noted, they owned it. For me, I took all the warnings to heart and cancelled anything booked after Dec 10th and banked my flights for another day. (A great SWA perk) Thanks for posting.

But we have since learned that SWA has known their systems of scheduling pilots and crews was insufficient since 1990s. Some of this was a cause of this issue. I love SWA, but they don't get totally off the hook.

I'm going to say SWA did have some control over the overall mess up this year, having an outdated system we are finding out. It's sad that so many had to experience such a bad holiday meltdown that coincided with a storm.
Hopefully SWA makes all passengers as whole as they can and learn to move on and get things fixed and improved.
I still love their programs. When I heard of the upcoming travel passengers increase and then the storm, I canceled all my DEC flights for future credits.

Bash away, I'm going to say you get to do that. But since this forum rants don't really get to the admin of SWA, it is fruitless.
I like you, enjoy coming on here to view what folks always have to say, good and bad. And it makes me feel good I heeded the warnings from weeks ago and canceled ALL may flights in Dec. Not only that, everyone was warned a BIG storm was coming. But SWA did make it worse by having an outdated flight system,...lol, the perfect storm for disaster.
I will continue to fly SWA.

As I read these things, I imagine my grandson is writing them. I still remember just sitting there and waiting for my flight to end, no IPODS, not headphones, and so on. We are talking about a free service, it you paid the 8 bucks for internet, then that's another issue. I don't fly other airlines, so I don't know if passengers face the same problem. Maybe I just suggest that you get a good book that you have wanted to read and take it on board with you. But I will say you give me good reason not to stive for trying to reach ALIST preferred.

@Chippy Obviously this is an issue with you. I take no issue with it personally, at least for now. I think that all airline employees have gone through so much these past 2 plus year and want to give them a break. And I also see nothing about those seats that entice me to sit in them even when they are available. Since I'm only 5'8 and 175 pounds, I guess I don't need any extra room, but that's just me.

To all of you that say you want to switch airlines. I'm just going to say it, but before I do, my father was an Air Force Veteran, and both my brothers are Veteran's. With that said, I don't think this would be an issue to anyone of them. Now, I really don't know about the other airlines because I rarely fly them since 1998 or so, but here is what I know that SWA does do each year. I'm not saying there are "degree" of privilege for a person in the service one day or 3 decades, but then again, maybe there are. I appreciate and applauded SWA for what they do each year for a specific group of veterans.
As the official airline of the Honor Flight Network, Southwest flies Veterans from various Southwest destinations around the country to visit the WWII Memorial in Washington, D.C., throughout the year, free of charge. Today, on Veterans Day, Southwest salutes 25 World War II Veterans with a patriotic sendoff to the nation’s capital from LAX.

It's my dime and SWA gives me the best perks for my money. And now, flight credits don't expire!! Thank you SWA, now listen to our military flyers on this issue.
