This is the only annoying thing I have found with travel funds - when you rebook a flight more than once when the price goes down, each adjustment / credit is its own fund. IMO, if you're adjusting the same flight multiple times, it should all go towards the same fund / reservation number so you can use it all in one go.

The server is supposed to assign boarding positions sequentially in the order of check-in. In an ideal world, it would assign them by who checked in first (by the smallest unit of time), but even if people hit check-in at the same time, bandwith issues (such as internet connection/range) could delay it by a millisecond. The server can also handle a certain number of requests at a time (and the server will order the requests by time), hence why you might see a loading icon for 1-2 seconds after clicking check-in.
Either way, if this were to happen it would probably be exactly 24 hours before departure. You can't check in earlier, and you have to know that whatever boarding position you get is the best boarding position that you could have gotten - there's nothing else you could have done to change it - at this point, it's out of your hands.

Just flew from Philly to New Orleans to Nashville and back (arrived home yesterday) and all the flights were great! The flight to New Orleans was shockingly empty, I think there were less than 70 of us on that plane and they made us all sit in different sections to disperse the weight! The other flights were full. The only questionable flight was the one from New Orleans to Nashville because of storms but it left on time!

You do realize that A-List and Early Bird boarding positions are reserved 36 hours prior to scheduled boarding time? Further at 24 hours before departure everyone else starts reserving boarding spots.
Thus there are no "inconvenience" A boarding spots to hand out at the gate - other passengers already have them..
The best the airline can do is give "inconvenience" passengers the best boarding spots available at check in -- and that is what SW does.

I’m afraid this might depend on the agent you get on the phone. I could see if your return changed to where the trip won’t work but the flights a different date might work then they might be able to help but if you want to change to a different departure on same day for the outbound they might say no with some form of your outbound flight didn’t change you can change at the current price.
best advise call be nice and they might be able to help.

Like @TheMiddleSeat said. All you need is a name and telephone number, just in case. It'll have a bag tag attached to it, so your name will at least be on that.
Oh, and a good tape job is always helpful!

Southwest was not in sole possession of your bag for the duration of your trip.
Southwest had access when you checked it in.
TSA had access to it at your departure airport.
Airport employees had access to it as it moved thru your departure airport.
Southwest had access to it as it loaded the plane.
Southwest had access to it as it was taken off the plane at your arrival airport.
Arrival airport employees had access to it as it moved thru the arrival airport.
Southwest had access to it to load it on the carousel.
Who tried to pry your bag open (if that is what really happened)? No one will ever know, but it could have been some person not tied to Southwest at all.

I'm sorry for what you experienced, that is definitely a frustrating experience.
First, safety first, if a pilot things the tire needs further examination, it should be done as that can lead to even worse problems.
I know this is definitely not helpful now, but in the future, sometimes if you pull aside a flight attendant and ask them about your tight connection, especially if you attach a truthful story of needing to make it otherwise you'll miss the "insert event here," they will contact the people on the ground, and they'll do everything they can for you to make the connection. It's not guaranteed because they want to affect the least amount of passengers, but sometimes asking them while in the air helps a lot (be sure to be friendly when doing so). I know it seems unnecessary because "customer service" but like I said, they try to affect the least number of passengers, so that often means not holding a flight for a singular passenger. Plus, you may have made the flight, but your checked bag wouldn't have and people would still be complaining. It's really a lose-lose for the airline, as they seem to not be able to do anything right in the eyes of some people.

So I board my flight today from Denver to my designation with a tight layover in Houston (Hobby). Plane arrives early, I was in the A boarding group, we board quickly....I was like yes the stars aligned for me today. Everyone takes there seat and we hear the captain state we are waiting on 12 passengers on another delayed flight. Those passengers all jump aboard and we are only 10 minutes past takeoff. Pilot speaks again...telling us he will make up the time in flight. Cool...I'll still have plenty of time to get to my next flight. A few minutes ago by and the pilot again speaks...we are just waiting on their luggage.....35 more minutes pass before the luggage is loaded. We start backing up...I'm now sweating since we are 45 minutes late leaving. Then we abruptly stop and the pilot says oops it's been so long our flight plan has expired. Then 10 minutes later he comes back on with an oops our flight plan is still good to go. We are now 55 minutes late taking off. So I ended up missing my connection by 5 minutes. I was the only one in line for a missed connection ( at least nobody was behind me in line at the service desk). Super friendly staff member apologized and SW had already rebooked my flight for the morning. She gave me a voucher for a hotel and said there was a $150 voucher waiting for me. I looked at her and she looked back and said let's make that $250. Im on the trip home so it's not a huge deal...but what hurts is not that they held the plane for 10 minutes for other passengers (that's actually cool they did that) it's that they held the plane for another 45 minutes for their luggage at the expense of me, a human passenger. They certainly didn't hold my flight for 10 minutes so I could board! Has this happened to anyone else????
I think ability to reschedule could also be a factor - someone missing a once or twice a day destination might be worse than missing a flight with frequent service. In this case they didn't catch you and it sounds like you had an overnight though so my usual theory wouldn't work.
12 people on a flight that might have also been delayed a little bit - that one makes sense to hold.
Maybe they needed that plane somewhere really badly and just couldn't balance it against a single passenger to miss a connection. Others might also have missed, but been at different gates, or had backup flight options booked automatically.

Just a thought, if she can't get it now I would ship it direct to your daughter with insurance and tracking via 2-3 day carrier of your choice. Sounds like she needs it now.
I would have more anxiety about packing it and having TSA inspect it (possibly contaminating opening packages, etc..., or even worse having it stolen since it is valuable at this point.)
My 2 cents your mileage may vary

It seems rather small for Southwest, with limited leisure and business traffic. Southwest flies to some pretty small airports (Bellingham, Hayden/Steamboat Springs, Montrose, Fresno, Corpus Christi, Harlingen). All of these are still bigger than Fayetteville, NC because they have either decent leisure or business traffic. If Southwest were to serve Fayetteville, NC, it would likely be to one airport, likely Baltimore or Atlanta. However, I would think that Southwest would just serve these people through RDU.

Hey guys, I'm a student, high school graduate actually, and this is my first time flying so y'know I'm a bit stressed out. I recently bought this suitcase it's and iFLY hardshell that's rose gold and on the website it says it's a carry-on for flights but I'm not really sure... if someone could let me know if this is a carry-on that would be greatly appreciated. This is what it looks like by the way:
Head to the middle of the plane, the bins are a little smaller on the 737-700's at the front and maybe the back.
I think it would be fine. Wheels out. Or if that doesn't work the worst case would be to slide it in sideways, but please don't do that unless necessary as it takes up two slots.
Should be no issue on a 737-800 or Max as the bins are uniformly larger.

Here's a hopefully helpful suggestion: Do as they say, then cancel that flight. You'll then have a credit in the new name. Use this credit along with your other credits to book the travel you need, as all will be under the same name.
Yes, I think they described a perfectly workable method - making the booking under the old name, and changing the name with the normal process won't affect your other current bookings.
Cancel it and you can then use it with the newer funds.
