Hi @jacelewis, This is a great question - thanks for asking! I reached out to our Customer Service policy group for some insight, and they verified that handles and wheels do NOT count in the overall dimensions because they are considered "protruding parts." So, you are all set to go!

I'm investigating the broken link and will report back when I've got some information. I tried it myself and also got an error, so I'm having some folks in technology take a look. I'll research your other questions as well.

Hi @CPSal,
You can read about our Limitations of Liability in the Southwest Airlines Contract of Carriage on Southwest.com.
1) Go to www.southwest.com
2) Scroll to the bottom of the page and look for the blue heading that says "Flying Southwest"
3) Below the heading, click on "Contract of Carriage"
4) Select either the Spanish or English version of the "Contract of Carriage"
5) On your keyboard, type "Control + F"
6) Search for "Limitations of Liability"
Hope this helps!

Hi @Karmal,
You can always make changes to your itinerary easily on Southwest.com, and you can definitely secure a lower fare if it is available. Any remaining amount will be held for you to use within one year of the original purchase date.
To adjust your itinerary, visit Southwest.com, and click on "Flight" in the top right corner. From there, select "Manage Reservation." You will then follow the step-by-step on screen instructions to make changes to your reservation.

Hi there @ceb627,
We've compiled everything you need to know about traveling to Cuba here, on Southwest.com. If you scroll about halfway down the page, you'll find a section titled "Additional important information," and directly below that there is information about Cuban health insurance (which is included when you purchase your ticket) and a link to the ESCUBA web site, should you want to read more about the service.

Hi @strandy542,
This happens pretty often - easy mistake to make! When it comes to changing the name on a reservation, our Customer Relations Department is the only place that has the right tools. You can contact a Representative there by calling 1-855-234-4654. If you need assistance in the future, you can find all our channels of Customer Service by visiting Southwest.com, scrolling down to the bottom of the page, and clicking on "Contact Us" in the bottom left corner.

Hi @dlancaster1969,
You can find required documentation for ESAs by visiting Southwest.com > Customer Service > Customers with Disabilities > Assistance Animals. Here's a link that will take you directly to the information. We've also got information on that page in a printable PDF, so you can have it with you at all times!

Hi @howcomeur,
December is a really popular travel month given the holiday seasons, but I'm sorry that you weren't able to snag a Wanna Get Away fare. Have you checked out our Anytime fares? They're a little more expensive but still a great deal and fully refundable. Our Low Fare Calendar will let you see the best fares available throughout the month, so if your dates are flexible that might be a good option too.

Hi @Lindadoty816,
The pet carrier sold by Southwest Airlines is designed to be able to fit beneath the seat in front of you. Pets must remain inside the carrier for the duration of the flight, so we created a carrier that is easy for people to use, knowing it will be the right dimensions.

Hi @kimmann73, Southwest will accept the first two checked bags for free provided that the bags do not exceed 50 lbs and 62 inches (L+W+H). It sounds like your bag comes in just under that, so you'll be fine.

Sure thing, as long as your duffel will definitely fit underneath the seat in front you. If it's a large duffel, and you have a garment bag that won't fit beneath the seat, you might be asked to check one or the other.

Hi @jordantaylor,
First, congratulations on your baby!
You don't need to anything special beforehand. When you get to the airport, make sure to visit the ticket counter and advice a Customer Service Agent that you are traveling with a lap child. Make sure you bring a copy of the birth certificate or shot record for proof the date of birth. (This is always required, even for newborn).
Our Customer Service Agents will get you all set up, and you'll be good to go. We look forward to welcoming your family onboard.

Hi @vitalanne, Apologies for the inconvenience. This most often happens when a Customer attempts to check in less than hour before the scheduled departure time. When that happens, the system will require you to get a boarding pass at the gate. If there was more than one person on your reservation, the system also would not have allowed you to get a mobile boarding pass, so that's another possibility.

Hi @RodneyBruce, While it's possible that there are Customer Service Agents who might make an exception and check the bags at no extra charge, you shouldn't count on it. The bags are technically larger than 62", so the expectation would be that these will incur the oversized bag fee.

Hi @gthornton326,
If all the bin space is full and your personal items won't fit under the seat in front of you, you would probably be asked to check them. But, it is very unlikely that will be the case. Our carryon rules allow for one carryon bag (duffel, carryon on suitcase, etc) and one personal item, which would typically be a purse, or a backpack, or a briefcase.

Hi @dleblanc136,
I'm sorry about the trouble checking your card balances. I have a couple of questions to help troubleshoot:
1) Were the cards purchased directly from Southwest Airlines? If not, do you know where they were purchased?
2) Sometimes the numbers on the card can look like other numbers - for example, a 6 might look a little like an 8. Look at the numbers really carefully, maybe with a magnifying glass if you've got one to make sure that they are all being entered correctly.
3) Definitely use the phone number listed as a resource. These folks will be happy to work with you to help get visibility to your card balances.

Hi @dstxus,
Can you provide a little info about your carryon bag? Is it soft-sided? If it is, you may be able to squish it down. If it isn't, you probably need to check it. If you can post a photo, that'll help us figure out whether it could fit.

Hi @sleeper692,
Before responding to this question, I reached out to our Customer Advocacy Department, which is a specialized group of folks who handle questions, concerns, and information surrounding disabilities. The information above was supplied by a Representative from that group. Since a kennel is not a medical assistive device, it is subject to standard bag regulations. Of course, if you have any follow up questions, I'm glad to help!
