Here we are on the 19th and my points haven't posted which seems very convenient because these points would put me over the limit for obtaining my Southwest companion pass. I've talked to Chase and they've confirmed the points were sent to Southwest on the 13th. Southwest has stated they haven't received anything from Chase and have 30 days from the statement closing date to post to the Rapid rewards account. Just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience because this just seems too convenient for a typical delay in posting. A lot of people on the community are continual CP holders - since they already have it when they qualify for the next cycle, people may not be noticing if that particular statement takes longer on average, but in your case it is agonizingly close to earn it if you don't already have it - that's understandable! I'm sure it is a bigger milestone than your regular statement and it wouldn't seem unreasonable to me for them to perform a review at this point. We haven't heard on this community that it would take 30 days very often, but I'd suggest to give it another week at least. If you are anxious about any upcoming trips I suggest to book the companion with points now to hold a spot in case the flight you have in mind may sell out. Then once CP is active, call to make a simultaneous swap. (Or if indications are that there are plenty of seats, cancel points and book companion online through self-service.)

One more resource for you flying Southwest will be to look at the low-fare calendar - although the low fare may not be at a desirable time - it will give some general idea when WGA fares tend to vanish for a particular route. Southwest flouts a few of the previous rules of thumb: One-ways cost the same as round trips for the same legs Weekend stays do not affect your pricing More connections = more price -> offset by direct flights selling faster and being higher becuase of that effect I once had to change a flight running late to MDW traveling to LAS. I called on the way there to reschedule to the next later flight...not even to Lake Shore Drive yet. The nice lady on the A-list line changed all of our flights, got to the end and said...it looks like we owe you $94, you'll have that as a travel fund. So not every route is jacked up even on the same day, although many do increase in that short-term time horizon.

I've seen people who were aware that you weren't supposed to consume your own mini-bottles and as a result were discreet and maintained good behavior and "got away with it" although I won't encourage that - the prices from Southwest aren't that bad in the scheme of things, and often the FA never comes back, plus I have more coupons than I can use, so my net cost of a beverage across all time is probably about $0.25/beverage on average. No reason to risk getting put on a naughty list.

Everything Southwest is at the domestic terminal in ATL. The only case where you would use the international terminal entrance would be where you already had a boarding pass and carry-on luggage, then you could enter through that checkpoint and take the plane train back to C concourse.

Think of it as a reimbursement (after the fact) as opposed to a refund (implying services weren’t rendered, or in this case a seat that won’t be fully utilized). my understanding is that it does apply to WGA - the BS and Anytime tickets are refundable in a different way prior to flight.

So specifically for the waiver they will default to travel funds, but accomodate upon request? Thankfully I hadn't experienced this scenario to see the alternate approach.

Now I'm confused reading the thread - it used to show gate info in the wallet as of the time you downloaded it, but the argument to remove it completely since it will often be out of date is interesting. The same logic would apply to people with paper passes though, somehow they (mostly) manage! I can't verify my last trip since I had downloaded the boarding passes early, and they do show blank now.

If the app or any other app can be updated, then the boarding pass can be updated as well. Simply have it refresh each time it’s viewed. A simple solution which may address your concern as well is to put a link back to the app where the “Gate” is shown on the boarding pass... this would at least make it a 1 click solution. This is by design - the export to wallet isn't a dynamic function, so this happens to me all of the time as well. Particularly at larger airports the gate may not be defined when you check in at T-24 and download your boarding passes, but at some smaller facilities it may be assigned that early. However, if you re-download the pass later the gate will show up. Note that it is static though, so if it is changed the pass in the wallet will still show the gate as assigned at the time. The app will be live as you mentioned, and I'm a big fan of App in the Air to keep track of gate changes alongside Southwest's app.

If this is a round trip I suggest you book one-ways instead*, then you can apply two vouchers to one-way and two vouchers to the other one-way. I think you are allowed three means of payment so cash plus two vouchers on each flight. *I suggest you book one-ways all of the time anyway, but that's a big discussion for another thread... A work around for travel funds that might work here is that you can make a booking for a ticket using the value of the two vouchers, then cancel it resulting in a travel fund for the total value. Then go back and book using two LUV and one travel fund and/or cash. You could repeat the process. EDIT: three vouchers could be combined if you get a flight exactly the right price, or else two plus some cash to top off. Travel funds take on the expiration of the oldest travel fund in the combination, and so does any cash that you put in to top off (unless you were able to find a flight which was exactly the right amount). I don't recall exactly the guideline for how many methods of payment are allowed but I thought it was at least three, previously four - were you combining the four LUV along with cash and/or travel funds? i.e. I think you need to get it reduced to two travel funds plus any cash needed to top it off to reach the desired flight's cost.

I second the opinion that you might as well hold onto it through the end of your flight though. Why they stopped taking it - some business travelers need it as proof that they actually traveled, and they didn't need it for any purpose I think it was collected mainly for convenience of not having pieces of paper litter the airplane more than any operational cross-check. Also in the rare occasion that a flight would be boarded and then be delayed in a way that everyone was sent back to the concourse, no one would have boarding passes. And it was obviously not necessary with so many people using electronic passes anyway.

Southwest sells bags at the baggage service and ticket counters for $17 if you don't have your own. It can't hurt having the Southwest blue bag and logo on there as well, everyone will know whats in there! "Safest" option is to gate check - then you know 100% that it makes it on the plane with you, and if you don't see it come back up you will be waiting for it right outside the aircraft door until someone locates it. But if the other option is 99.9% is it worth carrying the car seat through the airport? Most people say "no" and check it, especially if you'll be taking a lot with you already that will be a challenge to maneuver through the airport. When baby was little we had the click and ride stroller that the car seat snapped into - in that case we put both stroller and car seat into the blue bag.

You will need to buy three tickets (one of the 11 month twins can travel as a lap infant with the other in their own seat with a Child Restraint System) but you can buy four if you want both of the 11 month twins to have their own seats with their Child Restraint Systems. One caveat to this approach would be that with four tickets, the 8 year old would be sitting across the aisle from you since the rows are three seats wide, and the two CRS would have to be installed in the window and center seats as they aren't allowed to block your own egress to the aisle. If the plan is to put all four bodies into one three-seat row, then you should purchase three tickets for yourself, the 8 year old, and one of the twins. For mature 8-year olds they should be fine sitting across the aisle from you, I just wanted to make sure you knew the layout. https://www.seatguru.com/airlines/Southwest_Airlines/Southwest_Airlines_Boeing_737-700_new.php

To clarify @Carlosjchavez if you are a little bit over but using a "standard" suitcase it would be fine to pay the overweight fee $75 for one item, but the limit is up to 100 pounds, so you wouldn't literally be getting 4 people x 2 items each x 50 lbs allowance = 400 lbs into one suitcase. In theory you could use four suitcases at 100 lbs each for $75 each overweight fee = $300 extra or any combination less than that. Unless you are getting reimbursed for luggage fees from work or from a credit card, most people would be trying to use their free luggage allowance and get these items into fewer smaller suitcases, either three for your group or four at < 50 lbs each. Basically the luggage needs to be able to be carried by a human being and loaded into the aircraft, on and off the luggage carts, etc. Instead since you may have baby gear coming with you with only two adults to pull the items, I'd suggest you plan on spending the $5 or so for a "Smart Carte" that are prevalent at airports in the US to help you get things back and forth from parking and check-in/baggage claim. Double-check if you are taking the family internationally, some of the destinations have luggage limitations that are more strict on overweight or quantity per person. I hope this helps - let us know what airport if you want any tips about how to navigate with excess baggage quantity.

You'd still have to verify age at the ticket counter, then they will print a pass for the child. If you are rapid reward members and have the "live chat" option available in the app you could do it that way as well. Calling is quite easy if you can arrange for an off-time to make the call. Then it will all be set so you can use curbside check-in more easily. @Carissah wrote: Hi. In June we are traveling to FLL to board our cruise ship. It only says birth certificate in the link that was posted but I think that's due to the assumption that very few will have passports at that age (we did, but we also carried around a laminated copy of the birth certificate too). @Carissah wrote: Hi. Any other tips or things to know about traveling with an 18 month old? Our youngest was 5 on his first flight so things were different at that age. Thanks for any help in advance. You are probably aware of family boarding, if not that would be good to discuss here or see other threads on the topic. I like curbside check-in at MDW to get rid of the car seat and pack-and-play if we're taking them. We purchased several of the Southwest "blue bags" to protect from scuff marks - these are currently $17. You can buy your own bags of course too. Gate checking the stroller if you bring it through the airport - get to the gate a little early to get your tag so that you are ready when family boarding is announced. If you have a blue bag, put the tag on the blue bag and not on the stroller. Then you'll carry the item down the jetbridge and leave it near the aircraft door where the ramp agent will grab it and stow it underneath. You'll pick it back up in this same position - don't rush to get off the airplane as the items sometimes take a little time to make it back upstairs to the jetbridge. Ask the FA when you board if the changing table is in the front or back of the airplane in case that affects your seating choice. If you feel a dirty one coming on, they'll have you take a garbage bag into the lavatory to wrap the package so as to avoid a stinky garbage bin. Nursing or feeding on ascent and descent help the baby equalize their ears...don't let the baby fill up while you are on the ground. When the FA comes through the cabin prior to take-off, they will be counting all of the passengers. If you have temporarily set the baby on the middle seat they may count them - let the FA know the baby is a lap child. Let us know any other concerns that you have! There are several experienced family travelers active on the board.

There could have been an expectation that some prebaorders who need the front row were coming but for some reason they missed the flight. Maybe the crew was working on a quick turnaround and didn't want people moving even though this is normally allowed. (Obey instructions from flight crew supersedes in that case.) Or it was one of those days as you've speculated - we won't really be able to find out now, but normally you would be able to move around and reseat as far as I know this could include the front row unless the crew was expecting a preboarder that needed the front row in which case you'd be asked to relocate if you did move. Hopefully you were able to find another appealing spot and your future flights go more smoothly.

A couple of additional thoughts - the advice above is great! Ask when you check in at the ticket counter if you've used @bec102896 's tip to see if 8+ seats are available - in that case they may be able to clear you immediately and avoid being on standby at the gate, and you can check your luggage on your new flight. Nothing prohibits you from taking standby onto a direct flight if one is available that leaves prior to your original fight - go for it! (So will any other through A-list passengers going on your same route though!) The one loophole you don't have though is standby on a direct flight that departs later, even if it would arrive at your destination earlier than your original connecting flight. Have a backup plan if you arrive early and can't be accomodated - at BWI I say O'Brycki's, at MDW Reilly's Daughter in the new food court by A4, Denver lots of spots, etc.
