You may notice the fare going up which would signify some quantity of Wanna Get Away fares having been purchased, although the price could go up and down for sales and other reasons in addition to dwindling supply on a particular flight. Otherwise no, there isn't a way for you to track this automatically. In fact somone had just posted an article about how Southwest doesn't allow tracking of the fare price, let alone quantity of seats remaining.

Go back to a couple of your prior statements and your Rapid Rewards activity and you will be able to see how long it took on prior cycles as an indicator. Nothing is guarnateed of course and check for business days vs weekends/holidays, but might be okay even with the later end date. If your 12/30 flight is Wanna Get Away and you aren't comfortable with your margin of safety, you might consider changing it to a BS flight for 12x points instead of the WGA flight at 6x.

The points have to post by December 31st, from whichever sources inlcuding flights, credit card, etc. Credit card points will be earned with the billing period, not the payment date so that should be fine. We on the community board don't know how much of a gap you had to close in this last month though, but good luck!

I didn't see any follow up, he certainly was arrested - it's a crime to bring that through TSA even if it was an accident, and it sounds like licensing wasn't current. Pilot arrested for loaded gun in his carry-on luggage at Lambert airport | Law and order | stltoday.com Howell said he was not sure what the pilot's reason was for having a gun in his carry-on bag. Just the same as everybody else, regardless if an airport employee or a passenger caught with it, 99.99 percent of the time they say, "Oops, I forgot it was in my bag."

You will be automatically checked-in at the 36-hour time with Early Bird. The wording is confusing in one way - your boarding pass can still only be claimed or opened after the 24-hour mark. There's no action for you to take during the 36 hours to 24 hours time. But since you are already checked in, there's no need to rush to a computer at the 24-hour mark, you can claim your boarding pass anytime that is convenient prior to the flight after the 24-hour time. The website and app buttons will still say "check in" but you are already assigned a boarding pass, your check-in will only be claiming the boarding pass for printing or upload to your phone, app, whatever.

One potential reason for this would be clicking backwards on the browser or some lag with the internet that resulted in the purchase button getting clicked twice. If you can verify with your credit card that the balance is correct I would say problem solved. I don't belive that this is uncommon, the booking software must audit for these sorts of events automatically.

One obstacle for this will be that Southwest previously didn't use points, it used to be flights that counted directly towards rewards. I assume that A-list and A-list preferred, and Companion Pass, were solely based on number of flights at that time also? Anyway - point being that "million point club" might not catch some long-time customers. It might have to be the 500 and 1,000 flight club or something instead?

So you would get two "regular" bags to check, and then two baby items. If you get one of the blue bags or buy a third-party bag for the stroller its possible that the car seat and stroller (if it's a snap-in type) can fit in one blue bag. This you may gate check or curbside check, either way depending if you will use the stroller inside the airport. Curbside check the pack and play also since you won't need that inside the airport. For gate check, get the item tagged (put the tag on the blue bag) ahead of the boarding process so you can board at "A61" with family boarding - you don't want to have to run back to the desk to get the stroller tagged and miss your spot in line.

None of these are 28"...you'll want to prepare to check for sure, even if you do manage to carry it on as a backup: https://www.ebags.com/buyingguides/luggage-and-travel/carry-on-luggage-size There will be a box at the ticketing area of the airport where you can see "does it fit?" - also if you are relatively early boarding you can take up extra room putting your bag in sideways (if you make it on the plane with the luggage) although this has potential to cause someone else to gate check if all the space is taken and your item was using more than your share of the space. I don't condone that necessarily, but it would be "no harm, no foul" if the flight wasn't packed. Every once in a while I see a flight with some leftover bin space, but not much.

If you have carried this suitcase on other flights, it most likely will be fine for Southwest as well. Southwest flys 737 aircraft which means the overhead bins are uniformly ample. (The front of the plane has shallower bins, but still bigger than regional jet size overhead bins.)

There would be a lot of description of the terms in your confirmation email and in your cancellation email. (I wasn't clear if you had actually cancelled yet, or were considering it.) Your statement that it is non-transferable is accurate. I don't think you'll find anything in the fine print that will contradict that. The second question of "why" we could debate, but that won't be in the terms. Cliff notes version for the Wanna Get Away fares that are offered as discount fares, and I believe that Southwest is consistent with other airlines in making these non-refundable and actually is progressive to allow them to be used with no change fees for up to a year from purchase for the original passenger. I honestly don't know if other airlines allow re-booking in other people's names or not, but most would have a change fee to make any re-use which would be of the same magnitude of Southwest's original WGA fare price. If you turn something up, let us know.

You can check for a positive result by looking at your future tickets and see if there is a link underneath that says "add companion" or if you go to "your account" section to look at your Rapid Rewards account it will list your statuses, which should include CCP. I think you would have to call to see if you are enrolled but not yet appoved, I don't know any place on line to check something like that as a self-service action.

A little luck will help a lot. But seriously it depends on what you consider to be a good seat, and if you have purchased a Wanna Get Away fare or Business Select, or are willing to add Early Bird Check-In. People that fly Southwest more, and also any passengers that are already on the plane if it is a through route will be ahead of you - so if your definition of a good seat is the exit row, it will depend on a lot of factors out of your control including how many of these other people are on the same flight. If you want to get an aisle or window - well 2/3 of the people get one of those, so the hurdle is a little lower. Check in exactly 24 hours ahead of the flight, or purchase the early bird check-in to get ahead of people that don't check in right away. For a good seat that is in the front half of the airplane it will be a little more difficult, you'd probably want to be into the B-group at least. Sometimes the gate agent will offer a chance at early boarding for a fee, but even then you'd be solid for the front of the plane but still not for an exit row depending on through passengers. (Find out if the plane is a continuing flight number or not.)

Southwest's software may flag you for departing on your new flight during your current flight resulting in automated cancelation, which could prevent you from using the "hidden city" aproach....definitely best if you can make the change official. One issue will be that to rebook the first leg if the current price is much higher than originally booked, hopefully it is far enough out that the price is similar. Obviously if you wanted to check bags you'll need to re-book, whether you change the destination w/ layover or if you buy separate one-ways (allow extra time for this to check bags).

I don't think they do this. One reason would be that you could cancel the second flight while your bags go on to the destination airport. It's not desirable for people to be able to do that for a number of reasons. So given that you'll have to re-check the luggage, the issue is that you have to retrieve them at baggage claim, and then go check them at ticketing which takes some extra time. By the time all of that happens, your 40 minutes on the flight schedule is now reduced to 25-30 minutes. When the ticket is on the published route the baggage doesn't ever come upstairs - must faster to transfer between planes without all the extra handling. You could try late check and see what happens, but there may be a cutoff at some point where the ticket agent won't accept a checked bag since they basically know the chances are so slim. I've certainly checked in late and been fine before, but these were in the 45 minute range at MDW and maybe 30 minutes at a smaller regional airport. Let us know what the solution was.

Hopefully it went well @jpack. With a 30 minute layover to change planes, obviously you would not plan to be lined up for the numerical order, but that's plenty of time to get on the flight. That would be tight at ATL in the case of changing airlines - the other concourses are 5-15 minutes by train or walking underneath, and it could be 2-5 minutes to get to the end of a concourse if needed, so there isn't much leeway for deboarding and grabbing a snack.

I've found Nashville to be particularly friendly for short layovers, most of the Southwest gates are at the end of the concourse where the distance will be very short. There are a few gates further down the concourse, but chances are good to make the flight. There are restrooms, gift shop, and if you have time a take-out counter all in that vicinity.

If you can freeze the gravy the wording is such that solids would be okay, if you can keep it frozen until you are through the TSA line. This sounds like a critical item! But maybe you can freeze it, pour off any accumlated liquid right before screening, and go for it? It's not desirable for you to fly separately from your luggage, but I suppose if someone forgot to ask you if you had any checked bags when you requested standby status or if you forgot all about the gravy, the luggage would arrive as previously scheduled while you arrived early. If I'm misreading the question and you are asking about your luggage changing schedule - I think the only way for this to work would be if the ticket agent checking the luggage agreed to make the standby change - maybe the earlier flight is empty and they see you are a frequent flyer...? Otherwise the language for the perk was to request standby at the gates, and you'd be stuck by then. Maybe if you have GK's cell phone number?

I think your first question was technically solved - is there a way to do this...no there isn't, as replied by @TheMiddleSeat. If you are saying the remaining issue is to find out when it would be implemented or if it ever would be implemented, that's a little more difficult, the board moderators can take comments back to the mothership for sure, they have mentioned this several times. As far as getting any definitive answer from Southwest corporate IT teams on implementing a change to the reservation system maybe a comment will come back that it's a three or four on your scale, but otherwise I wouldn't wait for a response. Were you able to mark it unsolved as the original poster, or did the moderators see your comment and undo it?
