For the flight tomorrow you can call Southwest and have them add your KTN and re-print the boarding pass, or although it defeats the purpose you could arrive early at the airport to add the information at the ticket counter and then hopefully use the PreCheck line. Note that this is a user-to-user forum - you may want to edit your post to remove your KTN. Southwest can take that over the phone, or if you use Twitter you can ask them to initiate a direct message to send the info - no one on this board is able to use your number, that would only be by phone, person, or other means of contacting Southwest directly.

I understood from other posts on these boards that the redeye flight limitation was partly due to the reservation software, which with the recent upgrade may have relaxed the hours of operation for flights. I've found the 5 a.m. flights to be relatively busy, but the redeye flights usually I've had plenty of room to stretch out.

2,600 to 3,000 points per leg seems low, but depending on sales in effect at the time and taking flights in off-peak hours the average could be reasonable. Last minute bookings for popular routes might be a bit more. I don't have the details on the California Companion Pass, but assuming these are all shorter flights within the state the cost in $ or points would tend to be less. Regular companion pass would apply to any flight the passholder books, assuming California also applies in a similar way to flights within California.

Southwest doesn't seem to price flights with round trip discounts, so I haven't seen much downside to booking all Southwest flights as one-way tickets in general which keeps things simple if any changes are made to the travel plans. Depending how much you fly, you may want to lock in both legs now, and then re-book if prices drop. In that case you would have travel funds to use within a year of the original purchase as a refund of the fare difference. This is pretty safe option if it is likely you'll fly again with a chance to use the travel funds.

If the flight is a through flight with the same flight number over multiple cities you can Google the number to see flight status in any prior cities for delays. Hopefully everything turned out okay in the end.

Not sure if this is related or not, but I also had trouble logging into my account on the past few flights. I'm not A-list preferrred, but if the login process is the same to provide the authentification then I also have had an error where using the airborne wifi I couldn't access my account. I could browse other parts of the Southwest.com website, but not the account information or making bookings.

I hope there wasn't a miscommunication on the issue, what should have happened was for you to take your A5 position and board together with your son at A29. That is probably what the desk person intended when they sold you only one upgrade, and which would have been 31 positions better than family boarding (included in ticket price)... My concern with your specific situation is that certainly what the gate agent should have suggested if you showed her both boarding passes, for them to send you back to the desk was not correct when the obvious suggestion was to get back in line at A29 for both of you.

The idea to refund EB if you don't at least get into the B's makes sense. You'll be fighting with @TheMiddleSeat for one of those choice center positions whether you have EB C or "regular" C positions.

I would definitely call the resort and have them explain the room types. They may be able to correct the booking information by requesting from the website manager if it isn't up to date. Maybe also look using a different rewards website to cross-check the information there for similar value and room types.

I don't know the details of the California CP. One point you asked about was whether traveling as a companion would count - if there was a travel committment to the deal I'm confident that your traveling as someone else's companion would not quality, any travel requirement would most likely be for a revenue flight. Hopefully someone else with the details on this promotion will chime in, or you can post the terms and the group can take a look interpreting.

I think that is between you and your corporate policy as far as reimbursing the original ticket, Southwest won't object to this if you pay for the BS upgrade on your own. Edit: the prior purchase will be non-refundable, and if you upgrade the whole ticket there will be a portion refundable and a portion non-refundable...or does the whole thing become non-refundable? I'm confusing myself. There may be a technicality where you could cancel the original and rebook using travel funds to maintain the refundable portion if upgrading the existing ticket results in the whole thing being non-refundable.

If you mean Baby Bjorn or similar apparatus, I believe the restriction is for take-off and landing, but you could use it in the airport for sure, and I've seen others use them during mid-flight, in fact just yesterday. I think this would be fine for boarding, etc...just not during the actual take-off period.

That is the guidance if you want to board together. Obviously as discussed at length that isn't stated in writing anywhere by Southwest. I had missed this thread earlier, I'm amused by the concept of "Schroedinger's Seat" @chgoflyer.

Southwest sells re-usable big blue bags for $17 that you can put strollers or car seats into when you check them. (Or both might fit in one bag.) You can also buy your own bags elsewhere and use them. It is your choice to check any of these items at curbside, the ticket counter, or gate check - mainly if you want to use the items inside the origination and destination airports then go with gate check, otherwise there isn't much difference. For gate check, you'll go through security like normal and when you get to the departure gate go up and request a gate check tag - they can put this on the blue bag if you choose to buy one - you need to do that before boarding so that you can drop the checked item at the end of the gangway, don't wait to get your gate check slip and to wrap the stroller until people are already lining up. Two adults can board with a young child between the A and B groups.

On that last part, you'll probably want to leave something on your seat to show that it is taken, just in case you are delayed getting back to the plane for whatever reason. They will usually allow you to get off and back on with a driver's license.

Even as a relatively seasoned Southwest flyer I hadn't noticed the distinction about changing a refundable fare making it non-refundable until someone (probably yourself @chgoflyer) mentioned it on one of these boards.

Regarding the subject line, in my own account I recently had checked that the base points were labeled as TQP and when I looked at "all points" the numbers were higher, so my understanding is that the 25% and 100% bonus for A-list and A-list preferred respectively won't count towards TQP the next year.

If you have any WGA fare trips schedule the rest of the year, you can consider upgrading yourself to BS to get over the top of the points if it is that valuable to you. Last year I was close on flights at booked a couple of $59 legs to MSP and back to MDW to close mine out. Otherwise as @TheMiddleSeat said you wouldn't have had the opportunity to purchase points to get there. Unless you had a special promotion at the end of the year.

Let them know that you are interested. A lot of the east coast gates came from purchasing AirTran. If AirTran didn't have any gates at Syracuse, then Southwest may not have had the opportunity to move in there yet.

In general if something is frozen then it's okay for TSA or at least in reasonable quantities. To clarify, the requirements are only for when you go through TSA, if the frozen items are melted by the time your board that is fine, and if you brought powder though and bought water inside the airport that would also be fine. Fluids for the baby would be tested for anything in an open container such as bottles or thermos, so the main thing to watch out for is a sealed container such as shelf-stable milk which we've had mixed success with - some TSA stations pass it through, others had to do a screening of my wife's person since we obviously didn't want to open it which would make it "not so shelf stable" milk. They can allow that to pass through by taking samples from your body and the side of the container and testing those for any traces of what they are looking for.

Twitter would be great, @SouthwestAir and they may ask you to DM some more specific information about the flight. (i.e. don't put confirmation number or personal information on regular twitter, only DM that directly.)

Consider booking with points as a backup plan. Then if you need to cancel the points can be returned to your account when you book CP. That said, the flight could be full at that time, but there is often some last-minute movement on availability so if you do find yourself in a situation with no seats available, keep checking back, even within the day prior to the flight.
