I've enjoyed Brian's writings in the recent past...his style of writing enabled you to imagine that you were there when it actually happened. In fact if memory serves, he wrote about a period in SWA's history that I actually experienced, a flight on an SWA Boeing 727...his article refreshed a moment that I almost forgotten, and that was the roar of 727's engines at the start of the takeoff roll.
Thank you Brian, you revived an old and happy memory, and I'll see you on the other side of the river some day.

Side note on N737Q: It's most "recent" registration (expired as of 30 Sep 11) was as a 737-2L9 indicating is was configured for the now-defunct Maersk Air, with the last owner being Aviation Technologies Inc of Luzerne, PA

Even though I've never had the honor and pleasure of working for SWA, it's because of moments like these that I'll never hesitate to consider the any of the loving and caring souls of this wonderful company as part of my family.

I've actually had the pleasure and privilege to fly on the 723/723 Advanced with three carriers, including SWA. The roar of her tiny yet powerful Pratt & Whitney JT8D engines will live happily in my memory forever :-)

Bless you for opening your home to someone in need. You are a perfect example of the spirit of Matthew 25:40.

All that done in such a short amount of time is nothing short of amazing. It makes me wonder if SWA employees are on standby, chomping at the bits to help where it's needed. As a Ham Radio Operator who has trained for and worked emergency public service communications, I can tell you without a doubt that those snacks were appreciated by our brothers and sisters working the front lines.

As stated in a previous post, Ronald McDonald House is a charity near and dear to my heart, due to the stillbirth of my niece Angela. We were living in RNO at the time. My sister had to temporarily move to RMH SLC due to the closest specialist in Trisomy 13 being located at University Medical Center Salt Lake.
To make a long story short, my sister's husband, our mother and I had to make a beeline for SLC in a borrowed van. When we got there nearly 13-14 hours after we left (snow just past Battle Mountain) RMH took us in which was greatly appreciated, as we made the trip on a shoestring budget and last-minute loans.
It truly gives me a good feeling read about SWA employees doing good for RMH, regardless of the city, and for that I'll always be grateful.
Thank you :-)

I know why Douglas is still here. Three very simple reasons....
1. It wasn't his time.
2. Will & Juan were on duty.
3. Arguably most important, there was a plane nearby with an AED on-board.
